HCI labs
Week 1 complete · Week 2 public-model rendering recordedThe latest instructor email requires a detailed blog of both homework and lab work. The current lab scope is week 1: blog setup and Unity setup; week 2: 3D Gaussian Splatting. Each journal should describe the process as well as the result.
Week 1 · Setup
These two tasks appear on page 2 of HW1.pdf.
1A
Set up a blog
5 points · Original website published; setup journal written. Further revisions need review and publication.
1B
Set up Unity
10 points · Software installed; the later A1.0 game journal records a compiled and tested Unity 6000.6.4f1 project.
Week 2 · 3DGS in Unity
Lab 2 · 3D Gaussian Splatting
The public horned-lizard Gaussian model has now been imported and rendered in Unity, with a Windows viewer and three actual viewpoints. Read the English process journal or Chinese explanation. This completes the recorded public-model display experiment. Teacher-specific data and any requirement to train a model from personal photographs remain unconfirmed.
Track this together with HW2: all three lecture responses are written and their primary sources have been rechecked; personal review is still needed.
Lab 3 in the archived lecture handout
Page 166 of HCI_Lectures.pdf asks for a Unity application “using ML agent” and a process blog. ML means machine learning; the page does not require multiple agents or specify an algorithm. Station Rescue is a reusable game foundation, but its keyboard and scripted controllers are not evidence of a learned policy. This requirement still needs clarification and implementation. Its paired HW3 already has sketches and a prototype but still needs a real participant evaluation.
What counts as a detailed lab blog?
Record the objective, software versions, data source, actual steps, screenshots of your own work, result checks and reflection. If no error occurred, say so. If a step is only planned, label it as planned. Tutorial screenshots are references, not proof of your own execution.
Older notes mention other Unity exercises, but the current email identifies 3DGS as the second-week task. Other exercises will receive their own journal if assigned.
